Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of this website. Browsing its pages, reading its material, or submitting a search means that you accept every term stated here. If you disagree with any condition, you must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is independent of all local, Texas, and federal government agencies. The website and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit decisions, job screening, insurance underwriting, tenant review, or another activity regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to help readers locate official criminal-record resources for Hansford County and Texas. It is neither a private investigation business nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This website is a privately maintained reference resource, not part of a government office. It does not keep official records, submit court filings, retrieve documents on a visitor's behalf, or perform an official background check.

The information identifies agencies that maintain Hansford County records, including the sheriff, local criminal courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It may also provide access to outside tools that can assist with lawful personal research. Official criminal-history information held by Texas agencies remains governed by the Texas Public Information Act and the dissemination limits in Texas Government Code Chapter 411.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of use, you must not:

  • Use the website in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Threaten, follow, intimidate, or harass a person with information obtained here
  • Rely on website content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt to enter restricted systems or obtain access without authorization
  • Send automated scrapers, bots, or similar tools through the website
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the service

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service may not be used to stalk, harass, frighten, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is forbidden and may violate criminal law. This limit is especially important for the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas restricts misuse of registry data, and misconduct directed at a registrant may lead to criminal penalties. Registry information supports public safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, housing discrimination, or employment blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the FCRA. It produces no credit report, consumer report, or background screening report. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools intended to assess applicants for jobs or housing, set insurance rates, or evaluate credit through this website. You may not use website data or a linked tool to:

  • Make a hiring, dismissal, or other employment decision
  • Evaluate a renter, lease applicant, or housing applicant
  • Assess credit or calculate an insurance premium
  • Decide eligibility for a public benefit, permit, or license
  • Carry out any other purpose controlled by the FCRA

Anyone who needs a check for a regulated purpose must use an authorized process through the Texas Department of Public Safety or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The material presented is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a warrant, accusation, conviction, expunction, or other rule affects a particular set of facts in Hansford County. Seek advice about an individual matter from a lawyer licensed in Texas.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are offered "as is." No promise or warranty is made that:

  • Published material will always be complete, correct, or up to date
  • Website access will remain continuous or free from interruptions
  • The pages contain no defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • A partner's search result will be accurate or comprehensive

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when a court seals or expunges a record. Delays, omissions, and outdated details can occur. No website content is an official representation by the Hansford County courts, sheriff, Texas Department of Public Safety, or another government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, Texas agency, legal aid provider, registry, or outside search service. Following a link takes the visitor to a service controlled by someone else. This website does not accept responsibility for an outside service's availability, fees, content, privacy practices, or data handling. Review the third party's own terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Hansford County Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, logos, graphics, and code. Unless written permission is granted first, visitors may not reproduce, alter, distribute, or create derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum degree allowed by law, the website is not responsible for loss or damage arising from its use. This exclusion includes harm tied to a decision based on website information or content supplied by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the website harmless against a claim, demand, or proceeding caused by your use of the service or your violation of these conditions. That duty includes related expenses and reasonable legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these conditions. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in the State of Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

These conditions may be revised at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, restricted, or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected language will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
