Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not retain or log those terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive standard technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Browser name and version
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- Device type and operating system
- Pages requested during the visit
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. Analytics services combine those usage signals into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may alter how some site features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing technical faults and performance problems
- Maintaining reliable and efficient site operation
- Routing a query to the selected search partner
- Measuring which content serves visitors well
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hansford County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It publishes directions to the Hansford sheriff, criminal courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search-box services. Their privacy policies, retention schedules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to them. Review the applicable partner policy before running a query because those practices are beyond our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may open sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-resource, or outside search websites. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms control. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Advertising networks that place site ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, so a breach cannot be ruled out despite those precautions.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. Information known to have been supplied by a minor will be deleted after notice.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and applicable law. The Texas Public Information Act governs access to covered Texas government information, while Government Code Chapter 411 limits criminal-history dissemination. Those laws govern public agencies and do not turn this private site into a government record holder. Depending on the law that applies, a visitor may ask about:
- Correcting inaccurate covered information
- Obtaining access to covered data
- Deleting information subject to a valid request
- Opting out of certain covered processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version will appear here with its current effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
